Thanks for asking this question, Nat!
I´m convinced that we should also discuss stuff like experiments which don´t seem to work or really don´t work at all.
We should not be afraid of failing.
If one conducts an experiment, one has also expectations about the outcome of this experiment. If these expectations don´t meet reality there are various reasons for it.
It could be that we just overlooked some important detail, and if we don´t discuss this stuff maybe we´ll never find out what we have been overlooking.
It could be that we haven´t enough knowledge yet how to conduct an experiment correctly and have to collect more or other data for it. Without discussion, which is an important element in open research we won´t get useful hints.
It could also simply be, that our expectations have been wrong and that there are some results, but maybe much different from what we expected, and we simply don´t see them because we are still focussing on our expectations.
And of course it could be, that there are no results at all..... and we simply don´t know why.
Knowledge can also be gathered through failures!
